Installing blinds may seem like an easy task. After all, blinds are easy to use, so why wouldn’t they be easy to install? Unfortunately, that’s not the case. As easy as blinds are to operate, they can be quite a challenge to install properly, especially if you need to install them in multiple windows throughout an entire facility, such as a hospital space.

The following are some of the steps required to install blinds properly:

1. Measure the Blinds

To determine whether your blinds need to be installed within the frame or outside the frame of the window, you’ll have to measure the width of the blinds as well as the width of the frame.

2. Install the Brackets

Once you’ve determined whether the blinds need to be installed within the window frame or on top of the frame, you’ll need to install cub-sized brackets. They need to be precisely installed so that the blinds will snugly within them.

3. Install the Wand

The wand is what controls the opening and closing of the blinds. You’ll need to follow the manufacturer’s instructions in order to correctly install the wand onto your blinds.

4. Adjust the Length

All windows are different, which means your blinds may not be the exact length of the windows you’re installing them in. You’ll need to let the blinds drop down as far as they will go. Then, you’ll have to remove the retaining tabs at the bottom so that you can remove excess slats and cut the strings in order to adjust the blinds to the proper length. You’ll need to replace the bottom piece once you’re done and then tie the string ends back up.
